Abstract: Knotting is a type of handcrafts originated and evolved during the human development stages that requires human thinking and handcrafting skills. It’s been playing significant role in human life and sociocultural evolution and in sciences and art activities. To me it felt that nowadays, latest books, media, newspapers, magazines and artists are more emphasizing this handcraft art and promotion and proliferation of this handcraft in the society has been actual in past decades. So, it made me choose this topic for my research and I have studied the types of knotting mainly in terms of historical and developmental sides for the purpose to clarify difference between Mongolian traditional knotting and macramé.
