Илтгэлийн хураангуй: The declining birth rate makes management of universities stricter and stricter year by year. In manufacturing industry, the use of Universal Design (UD) for management purposes has shown a clear increase in operating profits, but this tendency has not been clarified yet in academia. In order to find if the management of universities is influenced by the level of UD in their management, a measure to evaluate the level of UD in the university management is required, but such a measure has not been developed yet. This paper describes a trial to develop it by improving the currently available measure for UD level in the corporate management in business. The relation between the UD levels in the national universities selected and their management indices was analyzed. Based on this analysis, it is found that there is a strong relation between the level of UD in facilities and the external income. Furthermore, a relation between the UD level in management and the profit ratio has been found. It is also found that the newly developed measure for the UD level in university management is useful to evaluate the state of management of a university to a certain extent.
