Radioactive background of petroleum exploration field around Matad town of Dornod province in Mongolia

This work was focused on determination of specific radioactivity of ²³⁸U, ²³²Th, ⁴⁰K and ¹³⁷Cs in soil samples, effective equivalent dose and radioactive background in Matad town of  Dornod province, Erdene-Tsagaan town of  Sukhbaatar province . We have determined dose rate and specific radioactivity of natural and artificial radioactive isotopes around petroleum exploration field by using the HP-Ge gamma-spectrometer. The results were compared with the world mean value.
