Vocabulary knowledge is a very important component of both first and second language proficiency and there are various ways or formats for testing vocabulary.

                There are many reasons for testing which authors of different methodological books present and they divide them according to various criteria. The most common reason is that tests show a kind of ability. We need tests to find out the level of some knowledge of something.
