Өгүүллийн хураангуй: Astract Sorption capacity of chromium(VI) onto silicon-organic sorbent containing thiocarbamide (-HN-C(S)-NH-) group, which named poly[N,N’-bis(3-silseskquioxanilpropyl)-thiocarbamide]-(PSTM-3T) was investigated in a batch system by considering the effects of various parameters like contact time, initial concentration, pH and temperature. Cr(VI) sorption is pH dependent and found to be maximum at pH 2.0. Increases in sorption capacity with increase in temperature indicate that the sorption reaction is endothermic. The thermodynamic parameters like standard Gibb’s free energy (∆G), standard enthalpy (∆H) and standard entropy (∆S) were evaluated. Sorption kinetics of Cr(VI) ions onto PSTM-3T were analyzed by pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order models. Pseudo second-order model was found to explain the kinetics of Cr(VI) sorption most effectively. Intraparticle diffusion studies at different temperatures show that the sorption mechanism is mainly dependent on diffusion. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used to describe the sorption equilibrium studies of PSTM-3T at different temperatures. Langmuir isotherm shows better fit than Freundlich isotherm in the temperature range studied.
