verbs sometimes called multi-word verbs consist of two, or sometimes three,
words. Grammatically, phrasal verbs can be transitive and intransitive. In
order to use transitive verbs correctly, learners need to know where to put the
object. With some phrasal verbs often called separable verbs, the object can go
either between the verb and the particle or after the particle. It discusses the findings of a comparative study of phrasal verb usage
in English and Mongolian based on G.Akim’s translation of “The old man and the
sea” by Hemingway.
