Mongolian government has announced that tourism as a priority sector of the country and planned to increase number of foreign tourists at 1 million by 2015. Therefore, it has put forward objectives to increase the number of tourists as being the same with Mongolian population in ways of strengthening tourism development between 2016-2021 and improving quality of service suited with international standards. In 2011, foreign tourists to Mongolia reached at 457,514 and income of the tourism sector was estimated as 282,687,977 USD. According to the survey, 57 % of foreign tourists to Mongolia visit in summer months from May through September and 28 % come in winter months from November through March. Most of the winter tourists visit Ulaanbaatar for few days for business purposes however a very few percent travels to Khuvsgul Lake, South Gobi and Erdenet city.
